Caring for your Jewellery
Aosro strives to offer you beautifully crafted accessories of the highest quality. To ensure you enjoy your jewelry for as long as possible, it requires some care on your part. The beauty of our jewelry lies in its fineness and delicacy, making it sensitive to how it is handled. Just as a glass jug can last for years or shatter in a second, or suede shoes can endure for miles but not a minute in the rain, jewelry must be treated and stored with special attention.
Because of this, Aosro cannot provide a guarantee on jewelry, as its longevity largely depends on how each customer chooses to care for it. However, rest assured that Aosro’s jewelry is worn by thousands of satisfied customers every day who take good care of their pieces and enjoy years of service from them. Many of our customers have built collections of dozens of Aosro pieces, which speaks volumes about their trust in our quality and value.
Aosro jewelry is crafted from a brass alloy plated with a fine layer of gold or rhodium, and hand-set with superior quality cubic zirconia or crystal rhinestones. This gives our jewelry its authentic look while keeping the cost much lower than that of solid gold jewelry. Aosro jewelry is a fashion item, not an investment like jewelry made from precious metals or gems. With this in mind, fashion jewelry is not designed to last a lifetime and is best worn on special occasions. Over time and with use, the plating or color may fade, but by then, you will have received more than your money’s worth!
To maintain and extend the life of your jewelry, please follow these care tips:
- Avoid contact with moisture or water (do not wash your hands or shower with it on, and avoid leaving it near the sink).
- Keep it away from perfume, lotions, or other chemicals that can damage the plating and shorten its lifespan.
- Store it in its original packaging or a soft pouch. Exposure to open air may dull the plating due to pollution and humidity.
- Be careful not to drop your jewelry or knock it against hard surfaces while wearing it to prevent scratches or stones from falling out (especially for rings and bracelets).
- Gently open and close clasps, remove earring stoppers, and handle earring posts with care. Delicate and thin metal cannot withstand much pressure; making it thicker would compromise its beauty.
- Understand that jewelry with more skin contact, like rings and bracelets, will fade faster than earrings and pendants, and manage your use and expectations accordingly.
